 ABOUT The Author:

Hi!  My name is Mike Baker, and I am a current graduate student at Vanderbilt University studying International Education Policy and Management.  If you are interested in the intersection of education policy and technology, you are in the right place!  Some of my other interests include: new media literacy, cognitive development with mobile devices, life-long learning, and economic development.

For my undergrad, I graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go heels!) and majored in Mathematics as well as Education.  Following, I became a high school teacher in Holly Springs, NC for 3 years, where I had the opportunity to serve as coach to the robotics team through FIRST.  While working in that school, it was easy to see the high demand not only for technological resources, but also knowledge about technology to train those kids.  I thought to myself, "If students in the Research Triangle have such a high demand for resources, how about other areas that are trying to grow their ICT sector, and what policies are in place to support that?"  If you ever asked that question or related questions, I hope this blog will help you out, and feel free to contact if you have further questions.
